Death Notice
It is with great sadness that the family announces Hal’s passing.
He will be sorely missed by his loving son Erin (Heidi) of Stratford and two grandsons Spencer and Luke, parents Edythe and the late Harry Reid of Chatham, sisters Cathy (Nick)Wakefield of Chatham and Nancy (Noel) Tapley of Amherstburg, brother Scott (Heather) Reid of Delaware, nieces and nephew, and his many friends.
Hal was a Systems Technologist at Imperial Oil in Sarnia for 35 years and was a dedicated member of the Bluewater Optimist Club for 30 years. He was an avid golfer and will be remembered for his great stories and his unstoppable sense of humour.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at DUNLOP UNITED CHURCH, 757 Rosedale, Sarnia. Interment will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Chatham.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Inn of the Good Shepherd (www.theinn.sarnia.net), St. Joseph’s Hospice (www.stjosephshospice.ca), or the charity of your choice.
