Death Notice
Passed away peacefully on March 10, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Loving and caring husband to Jean (nee Keller) for 57 years.
The best dad ever to Debbie Brown (Dave), Karen Fraser (Rick), Margo Smith (Greg), Mary-Jo McAuley (Pat), Mark Tayles (Janice) and Brad Tayles (Kellie).
Loving grampa to 15 grandchildren: Taylor (Lauren) Brown; David (Jenn) Fraser, Lynsey (Kevin) Fraser and Jamie (Danielle) Fraser; Brandon Smith, Corey (Jenny) Smith and Travis Smith; Shannon (Trevor Waller) and Shawna (Stu Chartrand); Justin, Lauren and Kevin Tayles; Joel, Brayden and Breanna Tayles.
Proud G.G. Pa to 5 great grandchildren: Ainsley and Ashton Fraser; Caitlan and Alexandra Chartrand; Reese and “soon to be sibling” Waller.
Dave will be missed by his many sisters and brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and countless buddies.
He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret and father Alfred; and siblings Vic (Elenor), Maurice (Toni), Bill (Mavis) and Shirley (Jack).
Dave was a warm, kind hearted, strong and reliable man who was completely devoted to his family and friends. His laughter, love and support will live forever in our hearts. He will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.
He was a proud member of the IBEW (The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 530), a competitive fastball player, coach, avid golfer, “Mr.-Fixit” to friends and family, skilled bird-house builder, foster parent to countless four-legged friends and dedicated member of St. Benedict’s Parish.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the incredible team of nurses and doctors at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care and the London Regional Cancer Centre. A special thank-you to Dr. Glenn Maddison, Dr. Monique Dostaler, the dedicated team of nurses, personal support workers and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia. The care and compassion they showed our dad through this difficult time, helped to comfort our family greatly. Cremation has taken place and at Dave’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial Mass in celebration of Dave’s life will be held at St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, 1011 Oak Ave., Sarnia, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2010.

Cremation has taken place and at Dave’s request there will be no visitation. A memorial Mass in celebration of Dave’s life will be held at St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, 1011 Oak Ave., Sarnia, at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2010.
