Death Notice

Peacefully surrounded by his family at Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit on Thursday, March 11, 2010 Armando Ferrera of Sarnia passed away at the age of 75.
Beloved husband of Teresa Ferrera. Loving father of Maria and her husband Umberto Taglione, Lina and her husband Franco Taglione and Renzo Ferrera and his wife Debbie. Cherished Nonno of Cristina and Nancy Taglione, Franco Jr. and Sandra Taglione and Nicholas and Evan Ferrera. Dear brother of Regina and her husband Alberto Riggi of Italy. Survived by nieces and nephews in Italy. Predeceased by his parents Leonardo and Erminia Ferrera and his infant brother Armando.
Armando was born in Vicalvi, Italy on October 12, 1934 and immigrated to Canada in 1957. He was a Past President of the Holy Rosary Society, a member of the Dante Club of Sarnia and a Past Executive Board Member of the Labourers Union Local 1089.
Family and friends will be received at The Smith Family Centre (new building in front of Smith Funeral Home) 1576 London Line Sarnia on Sunday, March 14, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with prayers being said at 3:00 p.m.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church 1011 Oak Ave. Sarnia at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010 with entombment following in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received at The Smith Family Centre (new building in front of Smith Funeral Home) 1576 London Line Sarnia on Sunday, March 14, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with prayers being said at 3:00 p.m.

Service
