Death Notice

Peacefully after a long and full life in her 97th year, Metje was called home by her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Meadowview Villa. Metje was pre-deceased by her 3 husbands, Govert VanBarneveld, Jurjen Meyer, and Chris Verstraete. She is survived by her sister Annie Plooij (the Netherlands).
Loving mother of Georgina (Wytze), Henry (Mary), Bill (Clara) and John (Jan). Cherished Oma of 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Monday, March 15, 2010 from 7:00- 9:00 p.m.. A celebration of Metje’s life will be held at Living Hope Christian Reformed Church, 1281 Exmouth Street, Sarnia on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
